IF I AM NOT FOR MYSELF, WHO WILL BE FOR ME?
More About This Value
You shall be holy, for I, God, am holy. (Leviticus 19:2)
We are taught that you are I are created in the image and likeness of God. We are made in such a way as to be holy and to act in a godly manner. What does acting in a godly manner mean? It means to be just, kind, humble, patient, forgiving, slow to anger. These are things that everyone can do.
If you could change one thing about yourself to make yourself more holy, what would it be?
If you could change one thing about your family to make it more holy, what would it be?
Ideas for the Classroom
Magen David: The Shield of David represents ways you are for yourself. Using a large outline of a Magen David, write your name in the center; decorate that space. In each of the six points, put one of your strengths or talents. Draw pictures for each point.
Award: Give yourself an award! Using a blank Certificate of Award, write your name in as the awardee. Think of something you have done that you would like to have recognized. Fill this in in the space provided. Decorate your award appropriately.
Name Poem: Write your name vertically down the left side of a sheet of paper. For each letter of your name, think of a characteristic that fits you. Make it into the line of a poem about yourself. |
